You spoke, I’m listening. Earlier this year, you guys asked for more interior design inspiration and tips. So I’m coming at you with some of my current favorite products at The Mill. Every time I source something for a client or for The Mill, I have a vision. I can see it in a home, being styled and being used. I know you’re not in my crazy head, so I’m shedding some light and inspiration for how these products can be styled in your own home. CONSOLEThis console is one of my favorite pieces. It’s simple but not boring and elevates the design of a space to feel elegant yet relaxed. Consoles are a great way to fill an empty wall without adding too much “visual weight.” Where could this fit in your home? Living Room, Entryway, Hallway, Office Mod bread boardI’ve always been a fan of vintage bread boards and you guys are too! They’ve been a best seller since I’ve opened. So now, I’ve stepped it up a bit with a modern twist. The modern charcuterie boards are great for entertaining, gifting and styling your kitchen. Where could this fit in your home? Gift it, Entertaining Spread, Kitchen Moroccan BasketThey’re back for a second season.. because they’re just that good. Every home has a “catch-all” area but what if you could contain the mess? I love seeing these Moroccan Baskets in mudrooms and entryways. They’re practical and can hide the clutter. Bonus - we love to use ours at the beach or as we’re running out the door with our hands full. Where could this fit in your home? Mudroom, Entryway, Nursery, Guest Bath, Closet Vintage Marble BasinThis vintage marble basin is SCREAMING to be in a powder bath as a sink basin. I’m thinking fun light fixtures and spice things up with a patterned wallpaper. Where could this fit in your home? Powder Bath, Kitchen Counter (fruit bowl), Garden (bird bath) Antique French MirrorUnlike a car, vintage mirrors aren’t losing their value. They are timeless and coordinate with almost any style. I’ve used Antique Mirrors in traditional and modern homes because I just can’t get enough.
Where could this fit in your home? Anywhere… Living Room, Dining Room, Bedroom, Bathroom

If you’ve followed along with me for a while, you’ll know that my love for vintage rugs runs deep. The Mill has evolved over the past few years, but vintage rugs are one component that has remained a core element of my designs. Because I believe every space should be graced with these beauties, we’re launching our collection online! To celebrate the launch of our vintage rugs, I’m sharing some interior inspiration. In with the old, in every roomliving roomVintage rugs have a story and they are beckoning for more. Living rooms are for just that … living. Adding a layer of pattern and color can really help tie a space together and make it more inviting, yet relaxed. dining roomDon’t let the table and chairs do all the talking. Using a vintage rug in the dining room anchors the space together while also protecting those pretty floors. Make your guests feel right at home with a perfect rug to compliment your dining space. kitchenIn every home, the kitchen always seems to be the gathering spot. I’m no chef but I love any excuse to host my family and friends. Add a vintage runner in front of the sink or stove as a place to welcome those working feet. bedroomThe bedroom should be an oasis. Adding a small rug next to the bed or layering on top of jute/sisal is a great way to implement a cozy element to your bedroom. foyerThe entry to your home is like a first impression. Simply adding a vintage rug to your foyer brings a wow factor and helps transition guests into your home (and keeps the dirt from following). bathroomGoodbye generic bath mats! The durability of vintage rugs is a major perk for me. Trade in those flimsy bath mats for something with a little more interest and class. mudroomUnless you have muddy boots tromping inside, add a vintage rug to your mudroom to really make the space feel less like a cold, utility room. These vintage rugs have proven to stand the test of time, and are sure to add a warm, comfy addition to a typically neglected space.
Long distance relationships can be a doozy but working with these clients in Texas was a dream come true. Last spring, we first met with Client TX at The Mill during their visit to Mississippi. They had just moved to Lubbock, TX after a long stent (20+ yrs) of living outside the US and were in the market for a new home. Shortly after our initial consultation, they closed on a home and I was jetset to Lubbock.
What made this project so unique was that even though this couple was fresh into retirement, they were starting this journey with an absolute clean slate. Having devoted their lives to mission work, they were always on the move so owning a home was a new stage in life for them. Usually when working with clients, whether they know it or not, they have some idea or vision of what they are wanting us to achieve in their home. That was one of the most exciting aspects of this project. This couple’s focus has never been on their home but always on improving the lives of others. So, there were no Pinterest boards or magazine clippings. Our first meetings were solely based on establishing what they wanted out of their home and helping them discover their personal style (and of course, meshing the couple’s preferences together). After several months and a few minor renovations later, we were pretty excited to install Client TX’s new home. We are so excited to be hosting Ella Benton of Vivian Estelle Designs this Thursday at The Mill with her beautiful antique Mora Clocks. Having spent several years exploring overseas, both Ella and these Mora clocks, are full of wonderful stories. Stop by The Mill : Design + Home Thursday, November 9th from 5-7 pm to share a cocktail with Ella and admire the timeless beauty of these gorgeous Swedish antiques. Can't wait until Thursday? Neither can we. Get the inside scoop below. Image Source: Pinterest
